I spotted this energetic squirrel scouring through this pile of rocks at the edge of town, eventually emerging with this pine cone held like a long misplaced treasure.
I had to laugh at his antics, knowing that he most likely stashed it last fall in preparation for the cold winter, only to forget where he had placed it.
He may be cute and fuzzy, but something about the look in his eye leads me to believe he probably wouldn’t share…
Part two of Monday Morning Memories was inspired by Troy and Martha at Ramblings around Texas... Yesterday they asked me where "Rocky" was... so, today I give you Rocky!

Great shot of this little red squirrel. i wouldn't try and take his pinecone though.. no matter how cute he is....
Namaste' Stacey! you really caught the colors of this lil skippy! he is transfixed, daring you to be so brave as to take that prize away. I saw one today narrowly miss meeting the jaws of Miss Tibet.
Tibet had the poor dear trapped in a tree, the only way out was down, right into a wolf's mouth, UHm not really happy imaginings for ME, no matter how much she wanted it. The squirrel sat up on that tree branch just a hollering.
I called Tibet over to me, and the squirrel saw his/her big break and made the biggest, maddest dash for freedom I've ever seen, boy oh boy cursing along the entire way, I swear that squirrel was trying to teach the entire forest new swear words. ;0)
hahahaha. I started jumping around saying yeah save number 267. "Alright!" Actually I seem to always be in the right place at the right time to save some critter from getting it at the mighty mouths up here. I am sure they get a lot more than I am able to save though.
We'll let them have *that* hidden sacred glory to themselves though
;0)

I love the squirrel!
We are practically neighbors. I'm up in Montana. Actually, I'm on the road in Oregon right now but live in Montana.

Great squirrel picture! That is so cute!
That just gives me a smile. Nice capture.
The squirrels around here are tough they tried to take my sons snack more than a few times.
Rocky, now that gave me a good chuckle.
Thanks for Rocky.
I can see he was out retrieving "treasure". I guess this years crop of treasure is not quite ready yet.
Great photo. I am always thrilled at a capture at just the right time, right exposure, right framing, right pose. Great job. You got it all right.
Bullwinkle must be saying, "Whatcha doing with that ole dried up thing. Let's go get some fresh tender waterlily shoots".
Loved it,
Troy and Martha
PS: Thanks for the plug.
BTW, nice scan job on the film.
