The afternoon sun was glowing off the velvet-touched antlers as this beautiful mule deer slipped though the dense forest.
As I tried to position myself to capture a clear shot,
I became entranced by the shimmering glow that came from the crown that he wore with such pride.
Trying to contain my excitement and moments of anxiety;
he finally turned to inspect this intruder,
as if too see what exactly it was that I thought I was doing.
I used this brief moment to capture this image
before he once again dismissed me and ghosted off through the trees.
