Gazing back

For the weekend posts I have decided to do something a little different. Each weekend I am going to have my children choose their favorite photograph and they can choose what they would like to say about it.... I hope you all enjoy their creativity. I can't wait to see what they come up with.

Always watching is the Creator, in return you must remember to sometimes gaze back.

Stacey: Very nice B&W of the big cat and a wonderful perspective by Tyler. He has picked up his Dads way with words. I very seldom work in B&W and I know why when I see an outstanding photos like this. How could I ever expect to capture perfection? I can't!!!

This is a great project for a weekend post and it is great to involve the children.

What a photo! It doesn't get any better than that, Stacey. Lovely!
Tyler did a fantastic job on his post and I think he's right, too. Sometimes we do need to remember to gaze back.

Beautiful photo.

And, I noticed your question about Sky Watch Friday. Your sky doesn't have to be that day, and it just has to show some sky in the photo. Doesn't have to be all sky either. You may want to check out ABC Wed. too. We just keep rotating photos with the letter of the week. Last week it was the letter "K", next week, well you guessed it, the letter "L".

Thanks Love to scrapbook. I will keep that in mind, I am still tossing around the idea of Sky watch, just don't know if I will always be up to the challenge. I may try both unofficially for a while and see if I can keep up, I have seen ABC wednesdays also..Thanks for the invite..

Stacey, Love the B&W of the cat.
Tyler, great words to live by.

To answer your questions: My walls a decorated with photos from Italy. My wife and I have made a couple trips to that country in the last few years, and have found it to be a totally amazing place. As for my nature photos, I've self published a collection of my Maine images, and am presently working on another series that will focus around water. Spent a summer with my wife and dog hiking to as many waterfalls as we could find in ME, NH, and VT. Time to get them out of my archive and into a book. From what I've seen of your work, it's something you may want to consider.

My equipment is Canon. I recently upgraded to the D40. I carry several zooms 10-22, 17-55, 24-70, 70-200, along with a 90 mm macro and a 1.4 extender. I find that with the 1.6 magnification factor of the D40 those lense cover 95% of my shooting needs.
