Babies!

Spring.. with the arrival of these majestic young beauties I know that Spring is truly here. Wild Mustang Babies are so full of life and innocence..I was very lucky to get to photograph these two shy sweethearts last year. They are from the Pryor Mountain Herd in Montana. It has been too wet this spring to chance the muddy road into the high mountain meadow where they live, but I am really looking forward to seeing the new arrivals, and the beautiful wildflowers that blanket this fantastic mountain.
Both photos taken 6/24/200~F8~ISO400~ 1/500~400mm Tamaron lens

I think colts are about as much fun to watch as any young animal you could find. They have so much personality. Pappy

They are beautiful. I hope you get to see them a little later when they will be a little larger. I like horses a lot and wild one are special.

Love the way little one is peeking around Mama in the second picture.
Both are lovely as always. Looking forward to when you can go back to Pryor Mountain!

Stacey: I loved the pictures I took of the baby horses until now. I bow to your excellance with the camera. That first one is a really special picture with his little tail showing. You do such a wonderful job with the camera and all I can do is learn from this.

What a treat for you. I hope you get to see them a year older, that would be especially sweet as well.

What wonderful photos. I can't decide between them (don't know why I feel a need to do so actually). Each is delightful in it's own way. I do really love the little guy in the bottom photo peaking out from behind his mother.

I agree with Pappy, they have a lot of personality. Great photos. You always find the most interesting stuff to photograph.

Great work.

I also like the Patriotic Pair.
This would have been the Prizewinner for the "P" post in ABC Wednesday.

Come visit,
Troy

Ha, these little guys are a bit cuter than the little fella we welcomed onto the farm a month ago - we got a mule, and while pretty cute....c'mon, it's still a mule! :)
