Photo taken 2/10/2008~F101/500~ISO320I would like to start this skywatch off by saying thanks to Tom, Jane, Dot, those that volunteered to help and Klaus for a wonderful new page.
As well as all those who continue to comment here each day. I am visiting your blogs when time allows, but I am still experiencing some technical difficulties and for some reason I cannot comment. I am trying and when I get more time I will contact blogger and see if we can't get this issue resolved. Bare with me, I am still here and enjoying what you all so graciously share with all of us.. Have a wonderful skywatch and a fantastic weekend. Now.... on to the normal post....
Although I was thrilled that this fantastic Prairie Falcon stayed put, allowing me to approach on foot close enough to capture this wonderful photograph, I was also greatly concerned that it has resorted to perching on the top of these tall power poles. The highest point allowing for a wonderful view of the hunting grounds below, but also a very dangerous habit that can often lead to the sad demise for many of these wonderful master's of the Sky.
Grand Tetons, Jackson Hole Wyoming. More master's of the Sky!

That is such a beautiful shot of the falcon. Such an amazing creature.
This is an amazing photo of what looks like a beatiful area. I am loving the photos you post and hope to stop by more often to learn about them. Happy SWF.
beautiful skywatch!
Beautiful, as always, Stacey. I hope you get the problems sorted out soon.
Beautiful falcon and photo of the mountains! Great way to start my Friday. Have a great weekend Stacey. :c)
Beautiful masters, indeed!
I hope he finds a new place to take in the view! I love your posts.
Well, all is right with the world now, I've being going down the SWF list, and here you are... Love the shot of the Prairie Falcon -- such a noble bird...
And yes, Blogger is such a "pill" at times... When I was using my (#$%&@) Windows machine I found it was always getting hung up on asking me for permission to go to the comment form, and then permission popups would get trapped below the current page, and prevent everything from working. I would have to close everything out and start over from scratch. What a pain -- but fortunately I have a Mac which knows how to behave... Don't know if you might ber experiencing that same problem, but I thought I would toss it it anyway.
Hope you are enjoying a fine Sky Watch Friday.
Best regards, Don.
Very beautiful! Never saw one life!
Hang in there, you'll get it sorted out!
Cheers, Klaus

Hello from Colorado. The Falcon is so cool. You caught him looking at you.
Love that falcon capture!
How true hawks are master of the sky.
Around my neighbor hood there been a red tail hawk and I been hearing an owl but haven't seen it yet.
Mine is up.
You never disappoint!
Both are beautiful pictures. Hopefully the falcon (amazing shot) will get enough food from there.

I feel your computer woes. Such a good system until it goes bad. Your photos are incredible as always, Stacey. Nice!
good pic have nice weekend
I have been to WY and seen the Grand Tetons. The panoramic photo is just beautiful. Love the Prairie Falcon is beautiful. It is sad when they choose to build on the powerlines, or to just perch there. You are right, it is VERY dangerous. Some power companies build special perches on the poles of their powerlines that keep the raptors off dangerous perches and gives them a safe spot to perch.
I like looking at this photo with the mannheim steamroller music playing in the background....very nice!!
Cheers, Scotty
Love this shot! Just simply beautiful! You capture nature so well!
