I don't know that any of us will make it through this life, without meeting someone that I would call a "trickster". One of those poeple who, tries to convince you that they are something other than who they truely are..You know the kind of person I am talking about..
In this new electronic world of internet, our big world is no longer all that big. With all the new social networking tools out there, message boards, blogs, chat rooms, Twitter and Facebook to name a few, I think it is so easy for us all to find what we "think" are like minded people, that we forget how truely important it is too be able to look someone in the eye when you meet them. To listen to their voice, and to feel, and trust those gut instincts that we all have. I tend to take people at face value, but I also listen very closely to that gut feeling and it has never failed me yet..Have to admit that I have ignored it a time or two and was reminded later just why I shouldn't do that..
So I guess my post today is about being careful, don't get so lost in the electronic world that you forget those real, living and breathing people that are all around you..Teach your children to shake hands and look people in the eye when they meet. They can learn alot about someone in that one breif moment. What they will tell you, is usually only what they think you want to hear anyways.
As you go about your daily life, keep an eye out for those who would play trickster.. they are out there, smiling, lurking, sneaking and waiting... but time will reviel the truth as well...
remember... once a coyote, always a coyote...Trust your instincts.

Thanks for the reminder. I am also one who takes people for face value.

This is so true. We do have those gut instincts that we sometimes ignore and shouldn't.
Hi Stacey,
Wonderful shot and wonderful text. yeh, I guess you're right, sometime we should listen more our instinct. after all, they were the first one to motivate our survival, not the thoughts!
He is beautiful, isn't he? I always try to go with my "gut feeling" about people - 99.9% of the time I'm usually right. So far, I've only been wrong once - and she turned out to be a good friend to me!
Great words Stacey. Time has a way of bringing out the truth.
Well said, and an important reminder. I've known a few "coyotes" in my lifetime.
Stacey: We should also realize that there are a lot of good people out there on the internet and I have met a few in person.
Beautiful photo and very nice post. So well said and true.
hey girl its been awhile since you posted...hugs sent your way...
Great photo Stacey and no truer words spoken. I think everyone can agree to take the time of getting to know someone- even online. I've enjoyed meeting new people through blogging and hope to continue my quest. But, I also listen to what my gut is telling me if someone doesn't resonate with me. Have a great night.
Great photo and true words. I think all of us try to take things and folks at face value but as one ages, we become much more cautous. I am one NOT to forget even though I might forgive the offense. The worse are those who pose as trueFRIENDS when they are really tricksters. Peace be with you and may your path lead you from those who do not intend true friendship. Peace
A very profound statement Stacey.
Good post. I haven't been here in awhile. I have trouble keeping track of who is who. Seems to me there are a lot of really good blogs out there and I really enjoy reading, visiting, and enjoying the photos. Thanks Joe Todd

It will take some learning to work out the differences between WordPress and Blogspot.
The new blog is barebones right now, with just the masthead and two posts.

Well, Stacey, that's some pretty good advice -- not to be completely absorbed by the electronic media...
And I'm sitting here thinking of a lifetime of Tricksters I've encountered -- phoneys, each and every one of them -- I suppose it's why I've always aimed towards being a hermit...
And I thought I had pretty successfully withdrawn from it all when this Internet thing came along... And now I have a whole new batch of friends -- not a single Trickster in the bunch -- and one my favorites takes these most INCREDIBLE photos of wildlife way out there in the Boonies...
Oh yes, the wiley coyote. You have to give them credit. They are survivors and that is a great attribute in the animal world. A beautiful animal and yes, a trickster. Nice post...debbie
You are so right. I hope everyone around could think and see things the same way as you do. The world wouldn't have lost its meaning(s).
The picture with the wolf is great!.

omg, what a beautiful wolf :)
Teaching your children... sometimes I wonder if there are many people at all that think about that anymore.
Thanks for the reminder and great photo.
Stacey,
That is a very good post. I learned to be suspicious of people's motives many years ago when I started in law enforcement, yet I have found that most are fairly easy to read and can be trusted. I also think that one can usually judge a persons character by their on-line writing in most cases, but that being said one sometimes makes mistakes and I have made at least one bad one.
I dealt with this man for a few years and finally came to the conclusion that I could not discern what his real personality was. They never said what they meant, or meant what they said and would not stand behind you.
Truer words were never spoken! Good post.
Beautiful picture!
And a great one to go along with such a meaningful post.
Wise words indeed Stacy. It was great to catch up with your blog again. Sometimes I forget just how many wonderful photographers are on the net, time whizzes by ...
Keep up the lovely work. :-)
